Spiders and Cocktails: Goth

I wanted Alex to at least get to meet his baby, while keeping a few other constraints in mind (like wanting to finish this before November!) They wouldn’t come up for air for a while.

We also got Cassandra out of the way via Lucia. They hit it off within a couple of hours (I assume killing Cass would’ve taken at least as long) enough to move in together, and through the power of enabling same-sex try for baby, ensured that Marg would complete Big Happy Family in a matter of days.

Thank you for the fourth and fifth grandchildren! I did somehow miss that Lucia grew up to Hate Children though (okay…fair)

The other two aspirations up for completion were Bodybuilder (got Marg to Level 10 Fitness at last) and Mansion Baron. Every step of the latter was complete too, except for the home value. None of the houses left topped $350k in value, so there was a lot of work to do expanding the Goth mansion…

…or we look at the pitiful backyard and just chuck a bunch of knight statues on the roof.

Now the house was a little weird, it’s the Goth mansion after all.

Morty’s grave was on the lot though I was never able to locate it. So he hung around a lot as a ghost, wondering where Bella went like it was 2004 again.

And we hired another maid so Marg could get over breaking up with Rachell, and they still sent Rachell. That girl needs a retirement! Hope I’m not eating my words soon.

We got Caren Creech the butler instead, forever at the Goth’s service. She was actually awesome, especially with childcare later on (in the last house, let’s just say we kept her around)

Now that was the rebound Marg wanted! I learned my lesson with making Caren or anyone else her official girlfriend, but they kept up a strong romance in and out of the house.

Somehow we also got our second butler, Alonsa (I think?) The pros were that she was a lot younger than Caren…

“…the cons are that she’s not Caren!”

Alex became the only spouse to celebrate a birthday while married to Marg, something Marg hadn’t even done due to all her pregnancies.

We even had a great Christmas featuring a very pregnant Lucia (any day now girl!) and Father Winter’s return, the Goths have a lot of fireplaces in sensible areas and also bedrooms.

In a twist, Martin and Paloma graduated from being free-range children into fodder for the Super Parent aspiration. I thought Marg would be done after seven aspirations, but she had nearly maxed the Parenting skill and the two kids were still young enough to influence. Responsibility and manners came first.

As did Paloma’s bear phase. This one lasted a while.

And finally, Marg gave birth to Isabel, sort-of-kind-of named after Grandma Bella. Which also started Alex’s death sentence, before winter ended anyways.

It was a blustery night in Windenburg, where Alex was feeling lucky. I felt so bad for him!

“Wherever Marg is, I don’t know if she can get me out of this storm!”

“Those poor sods don’t know what’s coming!”

“Sure they do, it’s not that cold tonight.”

Somehow Alex survived the night. There was nothing I could do to get him to freeze in Windenburg. So why even stay?

Well, there was the pursuit of Spouse #9. Eric Lewis’ elder birthday snuck up on me. Since he lacks hair, it was hard to tell from the thumbnail, and Alice was still an adult due to a pregnancy.

But Eric was easy to get along with and basically a neighbor.

The kids came along so Margarita could help them with their homework, as part of her aspiration again.

“Well don’t cry for me, Marg, I’m already dead.”

Wait, that wasn’t what the rebound butler was about!

Alas, Rachell’s time came after some delays. And Partihaus was down another member, which was becoming an increasingly worrying occurrence (to be fair some of it was age too)

The next day, Alex was getting frostbite in Willow Creek. I still don’t know what happened to keep him alive in Windenburg, unless Grim could handle only one death that night and chose Rachell.

“Alonsa, I can’t see shit out in this storm.”

So we had to have another Partihaus funeral, with the real tragedy being Paolo’s violin playing.

“And Eva, I am sorry about the death of Rachell, this club won’t be the same without her!

“Wait, didn’t we lose Alex too?”

“Let’s just say he wasn’t a good fit for us…”

And we maxed out our relationship with Eric, and just in time too!

“And so I declare my love, and our luggage for our Sulani vacation.”

“Wait, what? I still need my passport!”

If you ask me, it was like magic.

I couldn’t believe this was the penultimate wedding, and I still didn’t have a proper one at the Von Haunt estate. I didn’t even know who she would marry, because it became a multiple choice question…
