Man I Took a 3 Month Break Huh

Geez Trip, how long does it take to housebreak one chihuahua?

You ever own a chihuahua? Churro took a whole year to train from puppyhood, though I’m really glad that Tater can hold in his pee for a while unlike the little peanut who had to go every hour.

On the other hand, I think he’s found his pack!

Have I been productive in the meantime? I mean, I almost have proof of it. Outrun is a big project behind the scenes and let’s just say that hours get wasted thinking about the future. Way too much thought about Barry’s family–and very specifically them–and not enough self-awareness to know that you hear almost nothing about it during the first generations and don’t need anything more than that for now (we’ll meet a few relatives soon but all it does is prove that he has grandparents, you’d probably think that without it!)

“Does Cara have a family beyond the service NPC parents?” Not much and don’t get me started on a new project!

So for the other things I’ve been doing:

I’m proud of myself for these so they get the big typeface.

There was also a period where I was in an outlining frenzy for another story I’m trying to rewrite for my own sanity, but considering that it’s (supposedly) based in realism, made in TS4, and filthy as hell, I’ll keep it brief here. There were two other TS4 projects that got a little time devoted to them but they’re smaller stories anyways (and I’m keeping that promise).

Now what is the ETA on new chapters? I haven’t been doing them in order so here it is:

  • Chapters 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.7, and 1.8 are fully written.
  • Chapters 1.4 and 1.9 are partially written.
  • 1.2 is partially screenshotted, 1.7 is fully screenshotted.
  • Poses have been made for all the chapters mentioned so far but not every pose needed yet either.

Chapters 1.1-1.4 are Heathcliff/Bridgeport chapters. One isn’t actually from his POV so isn’t that spooky? The next five are Sheila/Moonlight Falls (also contains another chapter from another character’s POV), next few go to Heathcliff and Co., etc. until I get through eight generations of this I suppose. I guess that was to be expected. I give myself two options for getting back to updates:

  • Start out when I have the Bridgeport chapters done for once-a-week chapters.
  • Start out when I have another ten done (so the ones I listed + 1) for Tuesday/Friday chapters again.
  • Save them for the summer…hear me out: I participate in the “SimNaNoWriMo” on the Boolprop forums or at least did it for two non-consecutive years before. It was done in July last year and contrary to what the name might make you think, you don’t need to write everything in July and stockpiled chapters are allowed. This would be a month of very frequent updates. I might get an extra shiny medal.

I mean I’m open to suggestions! The first option would mean chapters in May, second June, third (probably) July.

(Okay this is the part you cut out for the post on Carl’s forum) Hey WordPress, nice to see you. Been a while huh. There’s a part of me that has felt very distant on this blog, half a promise to myself after some madness in my life and half just ignorance. I just wanted to say I’m happy you’re here if you’re reading. There is a disconnect between the very weird world that birthed Outrun and everywhere else in simming. There’s this public knowledge on Carl’s forum that I legit have a challenge I’m playing through a collection of various gameplay discussions and giving tips to other immortal dynasty players that’s hard to translate here. Forums are much different places and the challenge and any others we just is weird to import elsewhere (even other forums), try as I might.

On a tangent: yes I know there are a lot of sims challenges out there. Call the dynasty challenges on that forum my “special interest” when I’ve really had none to stick to, but my inability to keep interest in anything a bigger can of worms for another blorg.

So all this to say I’m sorry for only leaving you with a prologue to a weird, weird challenge and an even weirder story. I’ll deliver soon! And thanks for sticking around until then!

  1. First, the pack is so beautiful! Knowing chihuahuas, I’m guessing they’re uncannily smart, too. Also, wow, you’ve been so busy and done so much! We’re in for a treat with upcoming chapters! I seem to be taking breaks from my SimLit, too. Life transitions take a lot of creative energy, I’m discovering!

  2. LOOK AT YOU GOOOO!

Poses, clothes making! It’s badass, you took a 3 month break and are back that’s impressive lol

I took a 2 week break in LTWTH and I never went back hahhahhaa >_>

You’re doing great, keep it up

    1. It turned into a six month break (IN MY DEFENSE the promise of May chapters fell apart due to family emergencies that I couldn’t predict) but you know, just fit more CC into it. 😉
