As you might notice, this story has some vintage roots. It should be readable without knowing about them, but it takes guts to admit that I was writing stuff in 2013. Let’s do the time warp!
The Ironstar Immortals: in all its forum-hosted glory (we’re working on a mirror!)
It was just a little immortal dynasty challenge in Twinbrook (rules linked in About) that got interrupted halfway through thanks to necromancy…which I guess I did again. Stupid things to consider:
- I wrote it when I was 18/19 so it’s “immature” for lack of a kinder word.
- It was less serious than Outrun the Scythe and almost entirely just gameplay with a more “storylike” narration. This is fine except…
- …not the best story ever, not the best screenshots ever.
- A lot of it will be retconned for smarter ideas. I had no idea what Vega’s species was supposed to be after all.
This is pretty optional for understanding Outrun the Scythe‘s world, if I gotta repeat myself. But it’s better to have it on hand then not to I guess.
